INSTALLATION

The following describes how to install NistSearch.jar in Windows or Mac environment.  You should be able to use the instructions under various UNIXs.

(ここではWindows,Mac環境での利用法を説明します。UNIX環境でも同じはずです。)

1. Install JAVA

You need to download the Java runtime environment from Sun Microsystems.  Please visit http://java.sun.com/ and install the latest version (Java2SE runtime environment) into your computer.

2. Download "NistSearch.jar"

Click the NistSearch.jar link in the directory and save as file in your computer.

(このページにあるNistSearch.jarをクリックしてファイルとしてセーブしてください)

3. Double-click "NistSearch.jar"

Double-click the downloaded file, or type "java -jar NistSearch.jar" from the console.  (Please make sure that 'java' is in your executable path setting.)

(ダウンロードしたファイルをダブルクリックすれば起動します。 　またはコンソールから java -jar NistSearch.jar と入力してください)

If you see this window coming up, then the installation is successful.  Read also the help file in the directory.

(この画面が出てきたらインストールは完成です。このディレクトリのhelpファイルも参考にしてください)

DATA SETUP

1. Obtain spectral library

The software requires a collection of spectral data in NIST format (text-based) as the library.  Visit, for example, CSBDB http://csbdb.mpimp-golm.mpg.de/csbdb/gmd/msri/gmd_msri.html , and download spectral libraries in the ASCII format.

(このソフトはNISTフォーマットというテキスト形式をデータベースとして利用します。例えば上のウェブサイトから、NIST形式のテキストファイrを入手してください)

2. Upload the library in the software

In the software, choose the 'Library' tab　in the main window, push 'add new database' button, and select the spectral library you now obtained (e.g. T_MSRI_ID.txt).  You can specify multiple text files in a single library, and can set up several libraries with different combination.

(Libraryタブを選んでadd new databaseを押し、NIST形式のファイルを指定します。複数ファイルを指定することが可能です)

3. Upload query peaks

The query peaks are in the same format as the databases.  For test query, you can use any peak entry in the databases.  Choose 'File -> Open query data' menu to set your query.

(問い合わせに使う配列もNISTフォーマットです。テストにはデータベース中の適当なレコードを利用してみてください)

4. Click any data you uploaded as query.  The software will search into the databases and return results.
